On February 18, 2025 the Lead City Commission approved a resolution of adoption for the City of Lead Comprehensive Plan. The adopted version can be found below. Thank you to everyone who participated in this update.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Lead City Commission shall hold a public hearing on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. in the Lead City Hall, located at 801 W. Main Street, Lead, South Dakota, to consider adoption of the City of Lead Comprehensive Plan. The purpose of the public hearing is to accept public comments on the proposed comprehensive plan.
A copy of the proposed City of Lead Comprehensive Plan is available at Lead City Hall, 801 W. Main Street, Lead, South Dakota, as well as online at www.planleadsd.com, for public inspection and may be referred to for further particulars.
Individuals needing assistance related to the Americans with Disabilities Act should contact the City of Lead at (605) 584-1401 no less than 24 hours prior to this hearing to make necessary arrangements.
Updates from Lead Planning and Zoning Commission Public Hearing
The Planning and Zoning Commission Hearing was held on January 28, 2025. The Planning and Zoning Commission recommended the Lead Comprehensive Plan to adoption to the City Council. As part of this recommendation, the Planning and Zoning Commission requested updated data on page 23 of the document. These changes are reflected in the City of Lead Comprhensive Plan can be found in the Draft section of this website.
